How do I append a blank value to a Python list?

As you can see, all the values are essentially strings.

a_list = [1, 2, 3]

a_list.append("")

print(a_list)

Output: [1, 2, 3, ‘ ‘]

A None the object would be the best representation that a slot is empty.

a_list = [1, 2, 3]

a_list.append(None)

print(a_list)

Output: [1, 2, 3, None]
